Framed photograph of cracked dry earth, titled 'Los Restos Que Observan'.
The Framer's Eye

More than a print. A finished work of art.

When investing in artwork for your space, you want something that will preserve and display such artwork beautifully and professionally. With over a decade of custom framing experience, I don't just sell prints; I finish them. Every piece I sell either comes with high-quality framing materials or with guidelines for fr

The Materials

Built to Last

Every framed piece is handcrafted using archival mats, acid-free backing, and museum-quality glazing to preserve your image for years to come.

Archival Mats

All mats used in my framed pieces are acid-free and archival, meaning they won't yellow, fade, or deteriorate over time — keeping your piece looking exactly as intended for decades.

Museum Glazing

Museum Glass® offers exceptional clarity, giving you the best view of your artwork by reducing glare and providing UV protection. For larger pieces, Optium Museum Acrylic® provides the same protection and clear view without adding much more weight — making it ideal when size matters.

Custom Framing

The majority of my framed pieces feature wood mouldings, cut and joined in-house. I also offer metal frame options, and I'm happy to work with your own frame as long as it's in great condition and ready to use.

An Organic Aesthetic

Whether you like a clean, gallery look, or something with a pop of color, I've found the best designs feature mats with organic fibers (cotton rag, linen) and a wood-grain frame profile to finish it off. When choosing accent colors, pulling from the natural colors of the landscape suit best.

Mats

For nature and landscape photography, neutral tones work best. Not just whites and grays, but rusty browns and sage greens found in the natural landscape, paired with mats made from natural fibers like linen or cotton rag.

Frames

Smooth profile frames can visually reduce the value of natural landscape photography and make it feel like a postcard or poster. Using frames with a wood-grain or rustic finish ties beautifully to the organic feel of the piece.

Handmade Frames

I still handle the matting, mounting, and finishing myself. The only difference is the frame is physically crafted by a trusted local framemaker, giving you access to an incredible range of customization options from the width of the profile to the stain and finish.

The Process

In this behind-the-scenes video, you can see the care I take to prepare each print. Whether it's headed for a frame or being finished as a matted print. Attention to detail and patience can go a long way in creating the perfect finished piece."
